“A net-zero-energy house is not a single technology but a suite of closely integrated technologies. An essential principle of the zero-energy design and building process is whole-house integration— careful planning to make all the components work together to achieve maximum energy savings” 

The objective of this net zero energy home project is to design a house that requires NO fossil fuels for heating or hot water and NO net electrical usage from CL&P and NO emissions from fuel-burning equipment. This is one of only a few homes in New England designed to achieve such a certification and energy usage profile.
